Project Pensions & Payroll Specialist, in-house scheme acquisition project, 16 months+

We’re currently partnering with a leading organisation within their specialist sector to recruit an experienced Pensions Payroll &/or Pensions Project Manager to support a major integration and transformation programme within their organisation after the acquisition of two companies with circa 500 employees in total to transfer.  If successful you will lead a key project involving the transition of two Defined Benefit pension schemes to a new third-party administrator.

Key Responsibilities

Lead end-to-end payroll and pensions integration projects relating to newly acquired businesses
Oversee data mapping, data flows, and system integrity to ensure accuracy across multiple platforms
Identify process inefficiencies and implement scalable improvements
Coordinate with internal stakeholders and external providers to integrate new entities into existing payroll and pension frameworks
Ensure payroll and pensions compliance requirements are met throughout integration activity
Manage multiple project workstreams, ensuring delivery to agreed timelines and standards
Support the transition of two Defined Benefit pension arrangements to a new external administrator
Act as the key liaison between technical teams and business stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery

Candidate Requirements

Demonstrable experience delivering projects end-to-end within payroll, pensions, or a related function
Strong understanding of payroll and/or pensions operations
Expert knowledge of payroll legislation, including experience setting up new payroll entities
Experience managing data integrations, system workflows, and process improvements
Confident stakeholder management and communication skills
Strong attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and compliance
Comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced pensions project professional with a strong background in payroll and/or pensions to take ownership of complex integration projects following acquisitions, ensuring smooth onboarding, operational accuracy, and compliant delivery across payroll and pension functions.
