This is your chance to either re-route or continue your career in the exciting area of providing secretariat and governance support to trustee boards, via a provider of this service. This is your starting point, an exciting support role to both provider Trustee Executives and Senior Trustee Executives (Client Managers), who have a set of allocated clients to provide ongoing award-winning support, and need someone just like you to help them do this.

At this point in your career you have developed a solid foundation in pensions, perhaps you are already in a role like this for a company who provide trustee support?, or through working as a pensions administrator who is lucky enough to have exposure to trustee boards (perhaps you get to attend trustee meetings and report on administration or help the administration manger do this?). You understand how schemes operate, you’re confident in your pension technical knowledge, and you’re starting to think about what’s next? This is your opportunity to step into a broader, more involved role — one where when you are ready you’ll gain client exposure, deepen your governance experience, and continue building your confidence with the support of an experienced team around you.

As an Assistant Trustee Executive, you’ll support Trustee Executives and Senior Trustee Executives in delivering high-quality governance services to their clients.  When ready you will have genuine client contact through meetings, calls and emails — but always with guidance and your collaboration from experienced colleagues.  If you’re progressing towards professional qualifications (e.g. PMI), you’ll be supported in that journey too. So don’t worry your study does not have to stop because you have moved employers.

Long term perhaps you have aspirations to offer secretariat and governance support as a client manager directly yourself? If you do, this is the perfect building block role, and step one on the ladder to yourself one day having a portfolio of your own clients. How fast you climb the ladder is entirely up to you, from fast track or simply wishing to remain in a pension support role, but perhaps step away from pension schemes administration, and move into the interesting area of secretariat and governance support.  This is a role and company that will stretch you, support you, and help you grow, — without being thrown in at the deep end.

A little snapshot of what your future job will entail over time:
• Attending trustee meetings and preparing draft minutes
• Supporting meeting preparation, including reviewing papers and drafting summary documents
• Liaising with advisers and key third parties
• Maintaining governance documents such as business plans and risk registers
• Reviewing administration outputs and helping identify service improvements
• Drafting member communications and trustee reports
• Supporting governance, compliance and investment-related activities

Why this role and this company:
• Clear progression towards Trustee Executive level if you would like
• A collaborative, knowledgeable team environment always happy to help you
• Increased client exposure over time and whenever you are ready
• Broader governance and investment experience than ever before
• Support towards professional qualifications

You are perfect for this role because you:
• Build strong professional relationships
• Communicates clearly and confidently
• Take pride in accuracy and meeting deadlines
• Plan and prioritises effectively
• Work well as part of a team
• Are open to learning and developing your skills

Salary and work/life balance information:
In comparison to similar roles within this area, or if making a transition out of pensions administration we believe the salary banding for this role is highly competitive. This client also understands the value of home working to their employees, and work/life balance. They do not operate a long hours culture, they will empower you to manage your desk and duties, and trust you to fulfil the requirements of the role. *During initial training you will be needed in the office a few days a week to learn your new role, the company culture and values, but afterwards employees need only attend the office x 4 times a year for company meetings, or to work away from home if you are going out on client meetings, which is likely to be far less in this role than it will at the next level up on your new career ladder in the world of pensions governance and secretariat trustee support.

This role is available on a 5 day or 4 day a week basis, although the clients preference would be full time, 4 days is also a possibility.
