We are seeking a Senior Technical Associate to join a specialist Technical and Communications Team. In this role, you will provide specialist pensions technical guidance, support, and insight across the business—contributing directly to a first-class experience for both clients and scheme members.
About the Role
As Senior Technical Associate, you will be the go-to expert for complex DB and DC pensions queries across the company. You’ll play a key role in the successful onboarding of new clients by capturing comprehensive scheme knowledge, and will contribute to a range of client projects, business change initiatives, and ongoing training.
You’ll work closely with internal teams including Service Delivery, Client Relationship Management, Projects, and Communications, providing practical, compliant, and technically sound solutions. You’ll also support the Technical and Communications Manager in tracking legislative and regulatory changes and ensuring the wider business remains informed and compliant.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide authoritative support on complex technical pensions queries across the business.
• Capture and document scheme-specific knowledge during new client implementations.
• Review, interpret, and communicate industry changes, legislation, and best practice.
• Maintain and develop the internal technical query log to ensure accuracy, consistency, and tracking of recurring issues.
• Support business change and client projects from a technical pensions perspective.
• Ensure solutions meet compliance requirements and are operationally sound.
• Help maintain and improve standards for knowledge capture and internal technical tools.
• Assist in the development and delivery of internal pensions technical training.
• Collaborate on updates to client communications and internal documentation as legislation or service changes require.
• Identify process improvements and support development of procedures and technical training content.
What We’re Looking For
Essential:
• Strong technical knowledge of Defined Benefit and/or Defined Contribution pension schemes.
• Minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience in pensions administration or technical consultancy.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex issues clearly.
• Experience in delivering projects within agreed timescales and budgets.
• High level of accuracy, numeracy, and attention to detail.
• Proficient in MS Office (especially Excel and Word) and pensions administration systems.
• Able to review, interpret and apply legislative requirements and scheme-specific documentation.
Desirable:
• PMI qualifications (or working towards).
• Previous experience in client communications, consultancy, or business change.
• Familiarity with ISO 27001 processes and requirements.
