We're seeking a Pensions Lead with a sharp strategic mind and deep technical expertise to manage the end-to-end delivery of a multifaceted pension service. You'll be the guiding force behind pension compliance, transformation, stakeholder engagement, and continuous improvement across complex schemes.

What You’ll Do:
•    Lead pension strategy, governance and delivery across public sector schemes
•    Collaborate with third-party providers to ensure top-tier service, accuracy and compliance
•    Be the expert voice on complex issues such as taxation, the McCloud remedy, and scheme transitions
•    Influence and guide senior stakeholders with data-led insights and expert advice
•    Drive improvements and innovation in digital pension systems and processes
•    Provide compassionate support in sensitive cases involving ill health and bereavement
•    Represent the department in meetings with providers, legal teams, and regulatory bodies

What You’ll Bring:
•    In-depth knowledge of occupational pensions schemes including DB and CARE.
•    Civil service, Emergency Services or public sector pension schemes experience is highly beneficial
•    Expertise in pension calculations, legislation, and tax implications
•    Proven experience in leading pensions strategy and transformation within a complex organisation
•    Strong track record of working with pension providers and delivering service excellence
•    Confident in managing high-stakes projects, audits, KPIs, and regulatory compliance
•    Excellent communicator – able to simplify complexity for every audience, from new joiners to execs
•    Empathetic leader with strong planning, people management and influencing skills
