About You:

Are you a highly numerate individual and enthusiastic problem solver?

Eager to take part, bringing ideas and sharing your thoughts with your team and the wider business?

Are you an inquisitive individual, willing to challenge the norm to help improve our processes and practices?

You don’t have to be a Developer to be successful in this role! Read on to learn more…

The Role:

Our Pension Calculations Developers produce high quality calculation code, adhering to relevant pension scheme legislation, to ensure correct payments can be made to millions of public sector pension scheme members – quite a responsibility!

From your first day as a Pension Calculations Developer, you will join one of our scrum teams and take part in all team ceremonies. With the support of your new team (made up of experienced calculations developers and pension gurus) you will have the opportunity to create real software from the start. You will develop the latest version of our award-winning software utilising industry leading tools and practices such as pair programming, automated testing and continuous integration.

But our journey of evolution is only beginning, you will be able to put your own footprint on where we are going next, what tools and processes we should make use of in the future.

About Us:

Aquila Heywood combines a passion for software with Agile methodology to create modern software solutions for businesses, pension providers and third parties that help transform how their members manage their lifelong financial journeys.

Working for an established market leader you will have a real voice to influence our evolution. Continued learning and progression is engrained in our daily life, encouraged through a variety of ways from e-learning subscriptions and a monthly down-tools day (“Hive Day”) and communities of interests for learning and experimentation. Our open culture encourages wide participation and innovation. We also reward our hard-work with regular socials, organised by our people, from monthly Drinks Trolley and fortnightly end of sprint socials (Sprintly Socials) to Summer and Winter parties. Socials are of course remotely for the time being, but we do have a fiercely competitive online pub quiz!
