Pensions Lead Technical Administrator 

To £42,000, plus benefits

Our client is a FTSE 100 organisation seeking a Pensions Lead Technical Administrator to join their in-house pension team, based in Hertfordshire. You will be responsible for providing technical support to the pensions administration team to deliver excellent colleague experience and ensuring all SLAs and compliance measures are achieved for calculation and discretion tasks, as well as the allocation and review for 3 Pension Administrators. Day-to-day you will be working with the Pension Administration and Member Services teams, Colleagues, Pensioners, Trustees of the Pension scheme, Scheme actuaries and advisors

• Supporting all processes to maintain compliance and minimise escalations and complaints

• Completing QA checks on colleague communications from a pension technical and legislative perspective

• Management of the complaints process including IDR responses

• Act as Secretary to the discretions committee of the Trustee

• Complete complex ill-health and death discretion cases, making recommendations on benefit payments

• Completing and reviewing complex member calculations ensuring all calculation SLAs are maintained

• Completing calculations and managing correspondence for High Earners including legislative controls for Protection, Annual Allowance, Life Time Allowance

• Resolution of complex member enquiries

• Owning implementation of cyclical activities and notifiable events such as; 1/4ly HMRC reports, Event Reports etc

• Providing support and testing for systems development and other projects

• Keeping up to date with current statutory regulations and carry out training with the team. Support team in PMI exam

• Taking the initiative to improve processes and drive efficiencies

• Following our Business Code of Conduct and always acting with integrity and due diligence

• Act as technical expert for the Scheme.

Skills and Experience

• 7+ years of the DB Pension Scheme experience

• Experience of complex technical calculations and legislation for high earners

• Up to date knowledge of current and emerging UK pensions legislation

• PMI qualified

• Prioritisation and time management

• Communication skills - written and verbal

• Knowledge of the Altair Administration system

• Knowledge of excel, word and powerpoint

• Numerate and able to analyse and interpret data
