Job Summary

We are currently recruiting on behalf of our client for a Pensions Consultant in Bristol. You will join the consultancy team who are responsible for the provision of all advisory services to trust-based pension scheme clients. This role is based in a progressive department with great opportunity for growth.

Responsibilities:

  • Acting as Scheme Manager and/ or Consultant on designated schemes
  • Establishing and maintaining good working relationships and managing client expectations and needs
  • Liaising with third parties such as administrators, actuaries and solicitors to provide a cohesive service to clients
  • Attending and presenting at trustee meetings, including preparation, minutes and any subsequent actions
  • Producing presentations and reports
  • Advising clients of changing legislative or market trends and ensuring that clients are compliant with legislation
  • Chasing and updating of scheme documentation including Payment Schedules, signature mandates, SIP, IMAs, Trustees’ Report and Accounts, SFS and other documentation as required
  • Updating internal controls, meeting plans, anti-bribery policies, confidentiality agreements, conflict of interest policies and registers, training logs and internal dispute resolution procedures as appropriate
  • Project managing the installation of new schemes as Consultant or appointed Installation Project Manager
  • Overseeing the issue of fee invoices for clients and updating Service Agreements
  • Providing new business quotations and presentations where necessary
  • Work with directors and management team to ensure new business targets are met
  • Providing training on consultancy topics for the company
  • Delivering Trustee training to our clients

Experience and Education Requirements

  • Have experience running and presenting at pension Trustee Meetings
  • Have strong technical knowledge of both Defined Benefit and Defined Contribution scheme governance and regulatory requirements
  • A good understanding of the pensions market and wider financial services industry
  • Have a professional, proactive, flexible and positive attitude
  • Be able to prioritise and organise workload
  • Have good analytical skills, a good level of accuracy and attention to detail in all work completed
  • Be able to deliver information in an effective manner in client meetings and training sessions
  • Communicate effectively in writing and verbally
  • Have good customer service and relationship building skills
  • Have the ability to delegate work as and where required to ensure deadlines are met
  • Work well independently and proactively
  • Have achieved APMI or equivalent
