In-House Pension Administrator

Our client is a FTSE100 organisation seeking an In-house DB Pension Services Administrator. The role is based in Hertfordshire, with close links to the M25 / M1 and a mainline Station.

Main Responsibilities

  • Answering calls to the Pensions helpline ensuring the call is seen through to the point of resolution and closure
  • Supporting the pension teams to respond to written member enquires either by letter or e-mail
  • Maintaining the pension administration system and supporting databases with all relevant information from calls and contact with members
  • Understanding the SLAs for the pension helpline and pro-actively supporting all processes to maintain compliance
  • and minimise escalations and complaints
  • Completing quality assurance checks on both verbal and written communications from the pension helpline
  • Providing support to the scanning and administration teams to process post, member option forms and requests
  • Creating ill health and death files and supporting the administration teams to complete investigations and member calculations
  • Supporting the administration teams by completing short life expectancy and divorce calculations
  • Providing clerical support to other members of the department, and taking the initiative to identify processes and opportunities to improve the teams knowledge and efficiencies

The Ideal Candidate

Experience relevant for this job:

  • Customer service or administration experience
  • Call handling/call centre experience
  • Knowledge of Defined Benefit Pension Schemes
  • Experience of team working
  • Excellent communication skills - verbal and written
  • Attention to detail and calm under pressure
  • Knowledge of Excel, Word and Power point
  • Prioritisation and time management
  • Numerate and able to analyse and interpret data
