This key role directly supports the Pension Fund Finance Controller of a £ multi-billion defined benefit scheme and forms part of the small in house team who provide support to the Trustee Board and Committees and who manage the scheme on a day to day basis.
You will provide financial, regulatory and investment reporting; maintain invoice payments, cash transfers and cash management processes; design and implement processes to provide sustainable systems to facilitate the foregoing and will provide technical accounting and investment monitoring support. Additionally you will assist with the ongoing monitoring and review of the Scheme's investment managers and the onboarding of new/termination of existing.
Your broad involvement will range from providing and reviewing key monthly and quarterly reconciliations, maintaining certain primary accounting records, reporting on expenditure v budget incurred by the Trustee to liaison with the custodian and investment managers and the preparation of Agendas and papers for relevant committees.
To undertake this key role candidates will ideally have relevant experience gained within the Finance, Pensions and/or Investment field and are likely to have or be progressing towards an accounting or investment qualification. Competency in Excel is important.
Notwithstanding the £ multi-billion scale of the Scheme, the in house team is small and candidates must therefore be comfortable working flexibly in a multi tasking, hands on environment.
