Our client is a FTSE100 organisation seeking an In-house Defined Benefit Pension Administrator with strong technical skills. The role is based in Hertfordshire, with close links to the M25 / M1.

Reporting to the Pensions Administration Manager, you will be responsible for supporting the member services teams to deliver the member experience ensuring compliance and legislative measures are achieved  within SLA for all helpline requests and member calculations

  • Completing DB scheme member calculations within compliance SLAs and pension legislative requirements
  • Completing calculations and managing correspondence for High Earners including legislative controls for Protection, Annual Allowance, 14.9 ruling and Life Time Allowance
  • Managing the administration for relevant subsidiary and historic DB schemes including; calculations, colleague correspondence, member payments
  • Implementation of cyclical activities and notifiable events such as; Accruals, Valuation, 1/4ly HMRC reports
  • Coordinating the member services teams, meeting SLAs for the Pension helplines and communications by pro-actively supporting all processes to maintain the member experience and Quality Assurance requirements
  • Producing management information on helpline and member request statistics to inform the business and trustees of trends and opportunities
  • Keeping up to date with current statutory regulations, sharing professional pensions knowledge with the team supporting continued development and taking the initiative to improve processes and drive efficiencies
  • Providing support and information to assist communications and adhoc projects for the DB scheme

Experience required:

  • Knowledge of DB Pension Scheme legislation and benefits of membership
  • Experience of complex technical calculations and legislation for DB scheme high earners
  • Up to date knowledge of current and emerging UK pensions legislation

Skills required:

  • Prioritisation and time management
  • Communication skills - written and verbal
  • Knowledge of Excel, Word and Powerpoint
  • Knowledge of Pension Administration systems
  • Numerate and able to analyse and interpret data
