12 Month Contract

Are you an experienced pensions accounting professional looking for a broad, technically challenging role within a large and sophisticated pension environment?

We're partnering with a major organisation to recruit an Interim Pension Investment Accountant to join a well-established Group Pensions team. This is a highly visible role offering exposure across investment accounting, trustee reporting, taxation, governance and investment operations.

Reporting directly to the Group Pensions Finance & Investment Operations Manager, you'll take ownership of investment accounting activities across a complex portfolio spanning property, private debt, liability-driven investments and traditional asset classes.

Key responsibilities include:
• Preparing monthly NAV statements and investment accounting reports
• Supporting the production of Trustee Reports & Accounts, ensuring full compliance with pension SORP requirements
• Reviewing custodian and property accounting reports, investigating discrepancies and preparing associated journals
• Producing investment performance reporting and Trustee papers for Investment Committees and Trustee Boards
• Managing pension scheme investment, regulatory and tax returns, including international tax documentation and recovery claims
• Monitoring capital calls, distributions and investment commitments
• Maintaining strong relationships with custodians, investment managers, auditors and key stakeholders
• Driving process improvements, strengthening controls and supporting operational excellence across the pensions function

To be considered, you'll have:
• Proven pensions accounting experience, including Trustee Report & Accounts preparation
• Strong knowledge of pension SORP and investment accounting principles
• Experience of pension scheme tax returns and regulatory reporting
• Exposure to complex investment structures, ideally including alternatives and LDI strategies
• ACCA qualification (or equivalent)

This is an excellent opportunity to join a collaborative and high-performing pensions team where you'll act as the investment accounting SME and play a key role in supporting the ongoing development of a large pension scheme.
