An established national union is seeking an experienced Pensions Officer to lead its pensions work, shape policy, support members and officials, and drive pensions awareness across the organisation.
About the role
- Lead the union’s pensions policy and stay ahead of legislative and industry developments
- Produce guidance, briefings and training on workplace and State Pensions
- Support negotiations on company pension schemes and provide specialist advice on DB and DC arrangements
- Represent the union at conferences, working groups and external bodies
- Deliver the union’s pensions awareness campaigns and national pensions events
- Oversee the pensions content on the union’s website and online learning
- Provide guidance to individual members, including complex pension queries and disputes
- Line‑manage the Pension Administrator and contribute to the wider Legal Department
About you
- Strong expertise in workplace and State Pensions, including DB/DC schemes
- Up‑to‑date knowledge of UK pensions legislation
- Ability to interpret technical reports and communicate complex pensions clearly
- Experience in research, policy development, training or presenting
- Excellent communication, analysis and organisational skills
- Ability to work flexibly, manage competing priorities and motivate others
