Purpose
The Trustee Director will lead independent trustee, governance and secretarial, and executive services to clients, including acting as and/or supporting all types of trustee boards (including chair, co trustee and sole trustee) in large scheme and complex situations.

Key responsibilities
Responsible for leading all aspects of service delivery on clients, including large and complex schemes
Demonstrate a high level of engagement and commitment to delivering a professional service to clients at all times 
To significantly contribute to revenue targets by winning new business  

Client responsibilities
Analyse client situations, identify needs and propose appropriate solutions to meet client needs 
Ability to manage challenging and complex client issues or situations with confidence 
Take ownership to ensure that client problems are resolved satisfactorily  
Review and deliver work to clients, including work prepared by advisers, providing constructure criticism
Leading project work, such as adviser, de-risking projects and governance reviews 
Overall responsibilities for actions of scheme compliance
Act proactively and in consultation with colleagues 
Ability to make informed decisions and challenge expert advice where appropriate 

Relationship management
Actively work with clients to develop strong client relationships and all parties involved with the services (e.g. trustees, employer, advisers) 

Communication
Actively leads/contributes at meetings, aiding decision-making and effective running of the schemes
Ability to articulate and interact with clients, as a trusted expert

Team working
  Good team player, working well with others, collaborative, self motivated
Utilises wider teams strengths 
Ensuring work is delegated and delivered by appropriate team members, to maximise profitability and aid training

Innovation and vision 
Leading on RFPs, including formulating and writing proposals, preparing and delivering pitches and subsequent client negotiations. 
Raise profile of yourself and my client in the market place by identifying and create new business opportunities through: 
o networking of advisers and key business introducers 
o direct contact with employers and trustees by attending industry events 
o presentations at seminars and conferences 
o active involvement in national and local groups, e.g. PLSA, PMI, TACT 
o contributions to articles in trade press, and my clients website 
Develop new ideas for my client services and markets

Key Requirements
Substantial experience working in a pensions business, and demonstrate a in depth understanding of pensions benefits and terminology 
Full understanding of trustee and governance services 
Working knowledge of general pensions legislation, regulation and compliance environment 
Strategic thinker 
Ability to distil complex issues into concise and clear advice
Self-starter, demonstrates initiative, able to motivate others and understands needs and expectations of stakeholders
Excellent written and oral communication skills 
Find new angles to innovate our offerings 
Be confident and creative, with the ability to influence at a senior level 
Have a strong sense of client care and professionalism 

The candidate should be able to demonstrate the following skills and attributes:

Excellent attention to detail 
Preferably Associate or Fellow Member of the Pensions Management Institute (APMI/FPMI), Qualified Actuary, or relevant legal or 
other qualifications such as CFA, ACA etc.
