We have recently been assigned by a pensions secretariat and Governance Consultancy recruiting for a Governance and Compliance Manager for their London office working on a hybrid basis, remote working may be considered.

TRUSTEE GOVERNANCE AND COMPLIACE MANAGER 75-85K
The role
Responsible for ensuring the company adheres to legal standards and industry-specific regulations by developing a governance framework at business and client portfolio level, overseeing and ensuring compliance to prevent breaches that might cause reputational and financial damage.
- Develop, implement and maintain compliance policies, procedures and service delivery templates in line with industry-specific regulatory requirements
- Provide training and guidance to the team on compliance matters
- Be the principal contact point for scheme related issues, escalating to relevant Board
- Stay updated on industry-specific regulations and best practices to ensure compliance strategy is effective
- Monitor and conduct regular checks to identify potential compliance issues, including control objectives under the Audit and Assurance Framework (AAF02/07) and scheme statutory deadlines are met using the Knowa governance platform
- Maintain internal log of all scheme Internal Dispute Resolution Procedures (IDRPs) errors and omissions and critical issues
- Oversee the team’s qualifications and CPD records and work with the EMT to ensure the team maintain the highest possible standards
- Pension Trustee Governance and Compliance Committee (GCC)
- GDPR / Cyber Security
- AAF02/07 Framework
About you
- Strong DB background
- Compliance and Governance experience.
- Experience and understanding of pensions with technical pension knowledge and/or an understanding of pensions regulation, trustee responsibilities and governance
- A legal background or experience is desirable
- Experience of taking ownership of compliance related tasks and projects with limited supervision
