We are currently working with a leading TPA who are seeking to recruit for a Senior Pensions Technician
This role requires enhanced security clearance, one of the main factors is a minimum 5 year UK residency - please only apply if you have this.
In order to apply for this role you MUST have experience within the UK Pensions industry
Essential Skills
- Strong technical pensions knowledge in DB pension schemes
- Experience of manual / complex pensions calculations
- Ability to use Microsoft Office Applications including excel and be comfortable with VLOOKUP's and macros
We are looking for Senior Pensions Technicians to support the operations team on complex case work. As well as technical DB pension calculations experience you will have a passion for identifying, designing and implementing process improvements with a focus on operational readiness ensuring we have a positive training and coaching environment, so we are continually improving the customer experience.
Responsibilities include:
- Support the team on complex casework, high value cases and complaints.
- Process all events in accordance with agreed working practices in order to meet deadlines and costing of non-standard projects.
- Lead on projects linking in with all key stakeholders within the department or business areas.
- Actively represent the team in department and company activities and projects.
- Test and sign off processes and calculations, ensuring work is completed in line with service level agreements and scheme rules.
- Understand the importance of continuous improvement and be able to collate and interpret data to seek opportunities to improve the customer experience, challenging current processes
- Design and implement process improvements
- Provide input into development / training action planning
- Adapt to varying demands and complex workloads with a commitment to ensure tasks are completed to deadline whilst maintaining excellent levels of quality
- Participate in and promote good team communication and share knowledge and expertise with other team members
What are we looking for:
- Strong technical pensions knowledge in DB pension schemes
- Experience of manual / complex pensions calculations
- Ability to use Microsoft Office Applications including excel and be comfortable with VLOOKUP's and macros
- Ability to identify the need for change and process improvements and contributing to driving that change forward across teams
- Strong team work ethic, with experience coaching and mentoring others

- Strong analytical and data-analysis skills
