We have recently been assigned by a pensions secretariat and Governance Consultancy recruiting for an Associate Consultant and a Governance and Compliance Manager for their London office working on a hybrid basis.

 ASSOCIATE CONSULTANT - 45-50K

 About the role 

To support in the delivery of secretariat, governance and consultancy services for both new and ongoing occupational pension schemes 

  • Provide ongoing needs-based consulting support to an agreed portfolio of Clients
  • Scheme Invoice management - logging and processing, including status monitoring and payment follow up
  • Annual scheme budget - logging, monitoring and reporting
  • Understand Client needs in relation to the services provided
  • Respond to Client queries and requests and provide regular reporting to Clients upon request
  • Update Clients with relevant and accurate information in relation to agreed services
  • Support in the delivery of secretariat services, including all aspects of meeting management such as production of meeting minutes, for an agreed portfolio of clients
  • Support in the delivery of governance services across a range of projects as required
  • Maintain accurate time-cost records – use time-recording system to provide accurate, full, and timely records of all chargeable client time to meet the billing cycle
  • Build relationships to establish a high level of trust with Clients and other parties

 About you 

  • Strong knowledge of defined benefit occupational pension schemes at a senior administration level 
  • Excellent numerical literacy and proficiency in Excel required.
  • Proficient with other Microsoft Office products including Outlook, Word and PowerPoint
  • 2-5 years experience of working in pensions sector at a Senior Admin level 
  • PMI – Have or be actively working towards Associate status (or an equivalent professional qualification) is desirable but not essential

 

 TRUSTEE GOVERNANCE AND COMPLIACE MANAGER 75-85K

 The role 

Responsible for ensuring the company adheres to legal standards and industry-specific regulations by developing a governance framework at business and client portfolio level, overseeing and ensuring compliance to prevent breaches that might cause reputational and financial damage. 

  • Develop, implement and maintain compliance policies, procedures and service delivery templates in line with industry-specific regulatory requirements
  • Provide training and guidance to the team on compliance matters
  • Be the principal contact point for scheme related issues, escalating to relevant Board 
  • Stay updated on industry-specific regulations and best practices to ensure compliance strategy is effective
  • Monitor and conduct regular checks to identify potential compliance issues, including control objectives under the Audit and Assurance Framework (AAF02/07) and scheme statutory deadlines are met using the Knowa governance platform
  • Maintain internal log of all scheme Internal Dispute Resolution Procedures (IDRPs) errors and omissions and critical issues
  • Oversee the team’s qualifications and CPD records and work with the EMT to ensure the team maintain the highest possible standards
  • Pension Trustee Governance and Compliance Committee (GCC)
  • GDPR / Cyber Security
  • AAF02/07 Framework

 About you 

  • Experience and understanding of pensions with technical pension knowledge and/or an understanding of pensions regulation, trustee responsibilities and governance
  • A legal background or experience is desirable
  • Experience of taking ownership of compliance related tasks and projects with limited supervision
