Aptia have a brand-new opportunity for a talented and experienced Senior Commercial Lawyer to join their in-house team, reporting to the UK Head of Legal.

You will be part of the multi-jurisdictional Group Legal, Risk and Compliance team, with colleagues also based in the US and India, who you will work with collaboratively.

On an exciting part of its journey of growth and transformation, the UK business has over 700 clients, comprised of pension schemes and insurers.

In your role as Senior Commercial Lawyer, you will be responsible for the day-to-day commercial work in agreeing pension services contracts with new clients, extending and re-negotiating existing client contracts as well as entering into new agreements with existing clients for projects related to their pension schemes.

Aptia is a fast-paced business, where you will have a varied and busy workload as well as the opportunity to work directly with senior business stakeholders and clients to impact the bottom line.

This is a hybrid position based from our London office, 2-3 days per week.

We are also open to candidates seeking a part-time working arrangement (minimum 4 days a week).

If this sounds like this could be your ideal next role, here is what we are looking for in our ideal candidate:

*

Qualified solicitor with sound experience in a commercial role, minimum 4 years’ PQE

*

Sound knowledge of contract law, ideally gained from training in a City or major regional firm, preferably with a blend of in-house experience

*

Experience drafting complex outsourced services agreements and associated documentation (e.g. engagement letters, NDAs, comfort letters)

*

Strong commercial mindset and acumen

*

Positive, proactive and solution-orientated with a desire to learn

*

Strong relationship building and communication skills – diplomatic but comfortable challenging as needed

*

Organised and able to prioritise a busy workload effectively

*

Pensions knowledge would be a bonus but not essential, however the individual will need the appetite and curiosity to learn about specific pension topics and transactions such as the difference between DB and DC schemes, GMP Equalisation, De-risking and Pension Dashboards
