Are you someone with Payroll Systems Transitions experience? Who has transitioned from one payroll to another? Or moved another employer’s employee payroll to your own? Yes, then please read on…
Your new role will be dealing with Pensioner payroll but you do not need this experience, you just need payroll experience to do this role. The mechanics of running a pensioner payroll are the same, dealing with HMRC, PAY as you earn, etc, just sources of payment different. As a payroll specialist you do need to have previous experience of transitioning from one payroll system to another and moving to a new system.
You will be dealing with the project side and sit in-between the pensions payroll team (reporting to the Payroll Team Lead) and the IT team, and also liaise with the Workstream Project Manager. Your experience will hopefully include putting together large data spreadsheets of gross to net comparisons, test scripts, parallel runs, user acceptance testing, etc., ideally for a large organisation (as this is a very large pension scheme).
You will support the onboarding side, help the moving payroll by criteria gathering and build design. You will work closely with the in-house Senior Developer on this project. You will be responsible for designing new, or adapting current test scripts for payroll testing for the new client. You will carry out test scrips in respect of developer build of payroll and all related processes and workflows. There will also be other small process changes and duties as required.
To undertake this role you will need strong payroll and payroll processing experience, be highly experienced in payroll user acceptance testing, and be able to compare large volume payroll outputs via excel. You also need strong interpersonal skills and be able to communicate and interact at all levels internally and externally.
You will liaise with the project manager to present updates, and more closely with the payroll team to ensure the testing plan is managed effectively and to transition the new payroll to business as usual (BAU), including ensuring all the team are fully trained ahead of the go live.
Our client is rapidly growing and winning new business, so although this is an initial 6-month contract working on a major new client, if you do a superb job on this contract they would hope to be able to work with you again on future transitions.
