Role Summary

As a client technical advisor, a Business Analyst Consultant acts as a bridge between business & client needs and IT solutions, translating complex technical jargon into business-understandable language and ensuring that technical solutions meet business requirements.

This role will help improve our Bulk Purchase Annuity (BPA) Proposition by understanding our client’s needs, conducting research and strategic analysis, and recommending solutions to optimize systems and processes.

This is a hybrid position where you will work from any of our UK Aptia offices, as well as from your home address. As a client facing position you may be asked to travel to client offices from time to time.

What you’ll be doing

• Understanding business and client needs in our BPA offering and translating them into technical requirements that can be implemented by our technology teams
• Consulting with our clients to effectively communicate findings, recommendations, and complex technical concepts in a clear, client-friendly manner
• Be an expert in our BPA systems, process and technology to effectively communicate with technical teams and assess the feasibility of solutions
• Responsible for documenting business requirements, process flows, and technical specifications to ensure clarity and consistency
• Develop and present recommendations for solutions that address the client's needs and improve performance
• Undertake a full requirements process from either a functional or non-functional perspective, ensuring the value of the features being requested links with the overall objective and organised into priority to aid delivery
• Taking a holistic approach of considering People, Process and organisational structure when evaluating requirements and not just the IT needs
• Identify opportunities to improve business processes and recommend changes that can lead to increased efficiency and effectiveness.
• Collaborate with various stakeholders, including clients, internal teams, other Client Directors and our Leadership team.

Here’s what we’re looking for

• Strong analytical skills with experience in business process analysis, applications, and systems.
• Experience in the occupational pensions industry, especially implementation, data or systems aspects would be an advantage
• Ability to identify problems, develop solutions, and implement them effectively
• Technical background with experience working with IT & technology stakeholders.
• Understanding of Agile methodologies and exposure to working with software engineering teams.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively convey findings and recommendations.
• Ability to document and interpret requirements effectively.
• Experience in reviewing operational resilience and investigating technical and operational performance.
• Ability to map out products and services, both internal and external.
