We have a unique opportunity for a Senior Consulting Pensions Actuary to join our Bristol office at the Principal level. The successful applicant will look to implement Barnett Waddingham's strategies and objectives through leadership, relationship management and technical expertise.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead client relationships
  • Lead the provision of client advice, taking responsibility for allocation and completion of work and meeting deadlines
  • Ensure the timely completion of the annual Scheme Actuary certificate renewal and maintain the professional associated requirements as set out by the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries 
  • Peer review actuarial advice where appropriate
  • May have some significant team management responsibilities, including managing senior employees or large, complex teams
  • Represent the firm on internal/external committees and attend networking events
  • Identify and initiate new business development activities
  • Lead and assist with new business pitches and develop opportunities with existing clients
  • Establish and develop new client relationships and enhance current relationships

 Experience/Qualifications:

  • Qualified Actuary and comply with the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries’ Continuous Professional Development requirements
  • Scheme Actuary certificate will be required where carrying out a Scheme Actuary role
  • IT skills to perform all aspects of work efficiently
  • High level of professionalism skills
