Pensions Project Manager, In-house (Hybrid Working)

You have no need to ever be concerned about your career prospects as a pension's project manager in this role. Perhaps you are used to contract work or 1-3 year projects, and on to the next one, but our client is so large with so much they need and want to achieve in the next decade, that they have plans for you 10 years and beyond, and we all know that in pensions you just finish one project and something new comes along, so there will be new projects on a rolling basis for as long as you like and are enjoying the role, dealing with multiple projects over a long duration, with the main one being a system migration (new system to be chosen by the time you join) after data cleansing preparation, (already taking place). Other projects either happening or as part of your new role are GMP rectification, GMP equalisation, Data cleanse project happening now with a focus on data cleanse for each other projects, and a late retirement rectification/correction piece of administration that needs to be correct. Sound exciting? Then read on…

As the Pension Project Manager in the Strategy and Change team within the Pensions team, you will be responsible for projects through the full project life-cycle including defining and implementing the project plans, ensuring adequate resource is assigned and effective change control is undertaken, whilst ensuring that there is stakeholder engagement throughout.

You do need to be a pension's specialist who has worked in the occupational pensions sector and understands Defined Benefit and Defined Contribution pension schemes. As long as you have a strong Pensions background, perhaps even a pensions technical background or maybe you are a part qualified actuary who feels they are destined for something different to being a pensions actuary (just like your new line manager decided many roles ago), anyone in pensions who can quickly pick up the project elements of the role, our client would love to hear from you. Hopefully you have worked as part of projects and understand the process, perhaps you would even like to take the Prince II qualification or a similar project related one in the future to help you with this role? This is optional but will help you with the role, as this will now be your full-time career role, a pensions project specialist for multiple projects (circa 5 currently) running simultaneously. If you are a pension's professional who is also a project specialist, wonderful! You will be able to hit the ground running with this role, but as people like you are rare or often undertaking day rate contracts or specialist interim assignments, our client is managing their own expectations of who might apply and trying to be as open-minded and flexible as possible. So why not get in touch for a full job profile about this role and client.
