Your new role as the In-house pension scheme Pensions Data Quality Specialist will sit within the pension's team, reporting to the Lead Data Engineer, with a focus on the digital aspects of vital systems maintenance and data quality.

The company pension administration is provided by a very large in-house team for our client. The team strives to provide leading edge and high quality administration services to the Trustee of the Pension Scheme (the Scheme), and to the company in respect of LifePlan and NEST arrangements on employer pension-related matters. The Pension and Benefits Centre provides administration, communications and operational support to both of these parties in line with agreed service levels and governance policies. To provide these services, there is reliance on systems and databases to hold key information that is as up to date and accurate as possible.

Your key responsibility will be to work with the operational teams to drive quality through data handling, contribute towards improvement of operational effectiveness, accuracy, and quality through data exercises, contribute towards increased use of automated approaches to manage data, reports and processes, produce and analyse data/reports as required for internal and external stakeholder requirements. Support business decision making through data analysis, bulk processing and visualisation, leading to clear and concise insights and recommendations. You will help implement more automation and get data quality reports in place with follow ups for these. 

Our client has lots of new projects coming up, and this newly created permanent full-time role will help all the Data and Systems team achieve them. Projects such as data auditing, data manipulation, data sharing (e.g. with external parties, and data protection, e.g. pensions dashboard), GMP work, regression testing, etc.

You will have experience of working in the Pension's service industry, with proficient understanding of technical pensions and scheme benefits, and strong analytical skills, with the ability to translate business requirements into technical specifications.  You will be someone who enjoys data analysis, a confident MS Office applications and Excel user, able to extract information from these, with a previous background in data management and data integration. You will be able to create bulk solutions to correct data or carry out pension scheme calculations. 

To undertake this role you must have dealt with Data Quality and Data Provision work in the past. You don’t need to be a highly technical IT person for this role, and there is lots you can learn along the way, but you do need a background in dealing with large data sets, and maintaining quality.
