Juliette Lister and Lisa Tremlett are currently assisting a TPA who are presently recruiting for a LGPS Technical Manager



  • Provision of strategic advice to Local Government Administering Authorities and Employers.
  • Research and interpret legislative developments relevant to the LGPS (including IOM).
  • Critically analyse statutory documents and take forward issues on behalf of the business and our clients.
  • Responsible for producing and maintaining employer procedural manuals and associated employer forums.
  • Responsible for producing and maintaining training manuals for the Operations Teams.
  • Responsible for the design and delivery of regular briefings to clients, employers, scheme members and Operations Teams.
  • Proactive written and verbal communications on legislative developments to the business, Administering Authorities and Employers, so raising awareness and planning.
  • Support the Head of Technical in the business response to legislative change in order to engage with clients effectively and improve profitability.
  • Represent the business on industry bodies and at external forums to raise the profile of the business


What we’re looking for:

  • Can demonstrate in-depth knowledge of LGPS, PPS and FPS regulations.
  • Can demonstrate high level knowledge of pensions and tax law.
  • Can interpret complex legislation efficiently, and understand direct/indirect impact on clients.
  • Have had previous pensions positions in local government or third party providers for local government
  • Relevant management experience in administration, consultancy or technical roles to demonstrate the all round skills required for the role.
  • Able to peer review responses to technical enquiries and material produced by the team, with focus on attention to detail.
