We’re recruiting for a pensions investment manager to join our dynamic in house pensions team and deliver a number of key strategic pensions projects. It’s a big job. We have over 150,000 active and deferred members and pensioners, and circa £12bn of pension liabilities. But one that comes with even bigger opportunities to gain experience whilst making sure we provide a fair and inclusive pensions proposition for a huge range of colleagues.

You’ll work with the trustees across a number of pension schemes (DB and DC) to develop and implement our pensions investment strategy. What you’ll do

• Work closely with the pensions investment and risk manager and the trustees to develop and implement short and long term investment strategies that are in line with our goals
• Attend quarterly trustee meetings, making sure the relevant data and reports are prepared in advance, and that actions are progressed between meetings
• Build and manage relationships with trustees and internal and external partners 
• Work closely with the internal accounts team and external auditors to support scheme and corporate accounts
• Take ownership of asset transitions making sure correct processes are in place and are adhered to
• Provide information to feed into member communications
• Work with and help manage a small internal team

This role would suit people who have

• Experience of complex pensions schemes including liability driven investment strategies 
• The confidence to present to senior partners in the business 
• Experience working closely with a range of people including asset managers, custodians and trustees
• Supervised, delegated and reviewed work
• An actuarial, CFA or IMC qualification/part qualified would be an advantage
