West Yorkshire Pension Fund (WYPF) administers the Local Government Pension Scheme for over 400 employers based throughout the UK. The Fund has nearly 400,000 members and is valued over £15bn. In addition we have a shared service partnership with Lincolnshire Pension Fund, the London Boroughs of Hounslow and Barnet and a number of Fire Authorities for the administration of the Firefighters Pension Schemes.
The £15bn investment fund is managed internally and actively by a large stable team of investment professionals. The team are forward thinking and cover global investment markets and alternative investments with a high level of investment discretion, based at the modern head office in Bradford, though some element of home working is available.
The Fund is seeking to appoint a new Investment Manager to specialise in ESG and Engagement issues. This is a new position which offers the right person the opportunity to assist, advise and set new responsible investment policies, enabling the Fund to lead in best practice in an area of key strategic importance.
Responsible Investment Engagement Manager
Special E £67,036 - £76,613 pa (Pro rata for Part Time)

Reporting to the Assistant Director - UK Investments, you will be responsible for developing and advising upon West Yorkshire Pension Fund’s Socially Responsible Investment and Engagement policies.
You will be the primary point of engagement on Responsible Investing for media, shareholder action groups and high level management of listed companies.
You will promote positive media exposure, including the updating of social media regarding ESG and Shareholder Engagement news.
You will be expected to participate in Northern LGPS Responsible Investment Policy and advise the WYPF Investments Management team on socially responsible investment policies.
You will have a thorough, well-organised and professional approach to work, with strong individual and negotiating skills. Ablilty to engage with shareholder action groups and companies up to multinational level to bring about positive change in ESG practices.
This role requires regulatory and investment knowledge of Local Authority Pension Schemes, an understanding of the duties and responsibilities that underpin the work of WYPF and broad knowledge of Environmental, Social and Governance issues, particularly those relating to climate change, and how this influences investment decision making.
As a minimum you will have 5 years relevant experience in Investment Management, or a comparative organisation or function, experience of policy development or strategic investment experience and you will hold a relevant accountancy qualification (eg CIPFA, CIMA, ACCA) or a recognised stockmarket qualification (eg CFA or Securities Institute)
