You will be an occupational pensions specialist either already at Team Leader level, or someone who has been seconded or deputised in such a role, and has proven experience of undertaking a similar role and overseeing a small team of Pension Administrators. You will be the Team Leader for the Defined Benefit (DB) Team, so experience of working on Defined Benefit Schemes will be highly advantageous. Experience of either DB or DC a must, DB being more helpful to you in your exciting new role.  You will be a good, clear communicator with good interpersonal skills, confident on pension's administration software and process driven work.  

Our client has a closed DB scheme. Your role will be about ensuring internal (and some external parties') SLA's are achieved, and administration work delivered on time and adhering to compliance requirements.  You will be someone who strives and seeks for continual process improvement, maintaining process maps for all administration processes, ensuring systems are updated in parallel, and ensuring member focus and alignment to business and legislation changes.  Your role will also assist with internal and external audit requirements and production of data for the Quarterly Administration Report.

On a day-to-day basis you will take responsibility for management of the DB Pensions team, ensuring the DB Pensions Administration Team complete their tasks in accordance with agreed procedures, legislation and rules of the pension scheme, by monitoring, managing workloads and priorities, resource and manpower planning, holding regular administration meetings, maintaining great communication links between team and business, and ensuring the queries of members and non-members are monitored and managed to resolution in a timely and effective manner. Your role will also be to troubleshoot areas of activity that come under pressure due to work volumes or lack of resource and provide first line response to complaints.  You will review all discretionary payment cases before submission for determination by the Trustee, and ensure the practical application of the annual allowance/life time allowance for pensions.  You will also ensure the maintenance of systems to comply with administration procedures, ensuring accuracy of information and compliance with GDPR.
