Your new role is strategic, as well as operational as it has responsibilities for providing overall guidance to the operational teams in terms of the effective development, adoption and implementation of new technologies to maximise their performance and efficiency.  This organisation is committed to supporting the agenda of continuous improvement to the services provided to pension funds and this role is key to the success of the pension's team.

You will be planning, leading and reviewing the work of the Pensions Support team who provide pensions technical and IT support to the Operations Teams within Pension Services across the company to ensure that processes are implemented and reviewed to maximise efficiency and to meet (exceed) the required performance standards.  You will oversee a support service which covers pensions technical and IT support in respect of pension's administration for a number of public sector pension schemes, as well as completing employer responsibilities for other schemes. You will also have the opportunity to represent Pension Services at Local Pension Boards and Committees, as well as regional and national groups and promote the benefits of operating in a partnership environment.

Using a range of people management techniques, you will lead, develop and performance manage members of the team that provide a full technical support service, securing resources to ensure the delivery of a high quality professional service to customers and partners.  Although this role involves working as part of a well-supported team you will be given the tools to work independently and flexibly as the business needs to allow you to deliver work to a high standard.  Our client is seeking someone who is comfortable leading by example in modelling and embedding the organisation’s values and behaviours to help build a sustainable, highly effective organisation and to develop their reputation as a successful Pensions service delivering value to their customers and residents.
