Our Pensions team is part of the Orbis partnership, which encompasses Surrey County Council, East Sussex County Council and Brighton & Hove City Council. The purpose of this partnership is to deliver greater value for our councils, residents and customers by increasing efficiencies and exploiting the benefits of sharing people, resources and technology.

The Pensions Operations Teams based in Lewes deliver administration services to a number of external partners under commercial agreements and as the Service Delivery Manager you will be responsible for ensuring that the operational teams deliver services set out in the partnership agreements within agreed cost envelopes.

It is important to us that we meet and strive to exceed where possible the expectations of our customers.   We are therefore looking for someone with excellent communication skills and the ability to work and build strong working relationships with stakeholders whilst contributing to continuous evolution in quality and scope of services provided.

Working closely and proactively with your counterpart in Kingston/Lewes you will need to ensure that the administration service delivered is consistent, efficient and cost effective between the two sites and both sites operate using a single integrated set of workflow processes.

Although this role involves working as part of a well-supported team you will be given the tools to work independently and flexibly as the business needs to allow you to deliver work to a high standard.

You will also have the opportunity to represent Pension Services at Local Pension Boards and Committees as well as regional and national groups and promote the benefits of operating in a partnership environment.

We are looking for someone who is comfortable leading by example in modelling and embedding the organisation’s values and behaviours to help build a sustainable, highly effective organisation and to develop our reputation as a successful Pensions service delivering value to our customers and residents.

CV and personal statement will clearly evidence with examples where relevant;

  • Experience of successfully managing people and high performance in a defined benefits pensions environment.
  • Experience and ability to work with stakeholders and business partners (internal and external).
  • Excellent communication skills to allow you to develop and maintain working relationships.
  • A flexible and adaptive approach to work.
