DB Pensions Administrator (Temp to Perm/ 12-Month Contract)

Salary Description:
Circa £25, 000pa depending on experience
Location Description:
Job Role:
Pensions Administrator
Employment Type:
Contract Type:
20th February 2018
Job Ref:

You will be joining a friendly in-house pension team who provide a valuable service to existing and retired employees providing all support and guidance on the company Pension schemes.  As Pensions Administrator you will perform Defined Benefit administration services for the Group Pension Plan.  The initial role is for a 12-month contract, but in August the company will be able to recruit for a permanent pension administrator and should you wish to apply, then at this point, you could secure yourself a super new permanent role.  Alternately you may enjoy contracting, and the client is happy for you to continue on a contract basis, covering maternity leave.

You will be able to perform DB retirement calculations, perform death benefit calculations, and perform Active to Deferred calculations for all scheme leavers.  As the next stage to all of the aforementioned you will prepare communications and ensure that the relevant documentation is sent and received within the prescribed timescales. Hopefully none, or very few, but you may also have to perform initial reviews of complaints received by the department and prepare a summary of each case for the management team, presenting and suggesting a response and where necessary liaising with external legal advisors to put forward an approach to resolve and prevent reoccurrence for administration errors.

You will ideally have previous DB Pensions Administration experience, and experience of working with occupational pension schemes within an in-house or third party pension's administration function.  Given this is a contract, coupled with the salary and location for this particular contract, the client knows that candidate availability may be limited and so will also consider candidates with DC experience, but they will then need to train and guide you, so DB experience will be far more helpful to both parties if possible.  You will be numerate, organised, pay attention to detail, and able to prioritise your own work.  You will also be ready to start your next contract either now or within the next month.
