We do like a grumble here in the UK. If it’s not too hot, it’s probably too cold. If the restaurant is not too full, it’s too empty. Yes, we are indeed a nation of grumblers. Pensions is certainly not immune from this. Pensions complaints are on the up – their sheer complexity, impossibly difficult design and a legacy of minor errors precipitating a series of major workload crisis, make them very fertile ground for incubating the next dollop of curse words.
Pensions organisations have stepped up their game in response. Consequently, multiple role exist for those, likely from a Pensions Administration background, whom have the technical understanding, diplomacy and communication skills to field the incoming fire.
It’s by no means as battering as it sounds – indeed, the deep technical process and the satisfaction alone of reaching favourable resolution make this one of the most rewarding jobs in pensions at the moment. So if you are sick and tired of the day-to-day grind of deferred calculations and the like, this could offer a refreshing change of course. It’s a massively growing areas too so one that the savvy should take note of.
If you’re currently a disenfranchised Pensions Administrator/Senior Administrator who fancies something different then get in touch. Equally, if you are in a FCA regulated complaints role then we’d love to hear from you too.
Just don’t moan about it.
