Pensions & Benefits Systems Consultant

The opportunity:

We are an in-house team that manage Zurich’s UK pension arrangements which have assets in excess of £8bn and a membership of over 40,000. We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic, proactive professional to help support the delivery of an effective and efficient service to members of the scheme.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join the Pensions  team at an exciting time, we are about to launch a new pensions administration system to help us deliver a great service to all our scheme members and we need somebody who can help us to develop our systems to deliver innovative  solutions and can develop and maintain effective data and system strategies.

This role is available part-time, job-share or full time. This is because we want the best people for our roles, and we recognise that sometimes those people aren’t available full-time.  Please talk to us at interview about the flexibility you may need. 

Main Accountabilities: 

  • Support the management of systems and provide support that meets the requirements of the UK Pensions and Benefit Team.
  • Provide effective support to the management of systems projects.
  • Support the provision of data to internal and external sources.
  • Support the development of improved ways of working within the UK Pensions & Benefits Team.
  • Manage bulk processes/mailings.

Your skills and experience:

  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access including knowledge of VBA/Macros
  • Experience of pensions administration software would be advantageous.
  • Experience of administering pension schemes and of defined benefit and defined contribution pension arrangements
  • Knowledge of Pension regulations relating to UK Pension Schemes would be advantageous
  • A working knowledge of website design would be advantageous.
  • Ability to analyse and interpret statistical data.
  • Project Management Skills would be advantageous.
  • Good influencing skills
  • Creative problem-solving.
  • Effective at working independently as well as in collaboration with others
  • Good verbal and written communication skills – ability to communicate in plain English.
