Our client is aware of the ongoing market shortage of good quality occupational pension administrators, especially at the 2-3 years' experience level. Therefore they will consider applications from individuals who have a very good understanding of pension's basics, the capability to learn quickly, and show strong numerical skills. Individuals who perhaps currently don’t undertake pension calculations but act as the go between for member and provider, taking calls, entering data onto the system, sending requests for scheme information but not actually doing the 'hands on' administration. You will NOT be entry level, as this is not a trainee role, you MUST have a few years experience in a pensions-related industry, which means you understand what Defined Benefit and Defined Contribution schemes are, you have just not yet embarked on doing the administration for them. Your essential basic grounding will mean when you start this role you understand what you need to achieve and why, and now you are going to learn how. This is a super chance to transition from processer to doer, and become an experienced occupational pension's specialist. You will be joining a ten-strong friendly team of in-house pension professionals, all there to help you reach your potential.
This role is junior to intermediate, and at the intermediate level you will be able to do 'hands on' administration, perhaps having worked for a similar company in-house for a few years or a third party administration provider. If you are able to join and hit the ground running, then you would warrant the top of band salary £30,000 per annum. If you need some initial training, then the salary would be bottom of the band, £25,000 per annum. Our client sets their own internal SLA's, which unlike perhaps your past experience of SLA's allow a large amount of time per case, so you are never stressed, worried about time limitations and clock watching. Instead you can work on each of your cases feeling relaxed, focused, with plenty of time to undertake accurate and thorough calculations or checks. The team work in a very proactive, energised and forward-thinking way, achieving excellent service standards for their members through quality of work, not simply quantity.
