Pensions Specialist

Salary and Benefits: Between £36,312 to £45,390 depending on experience + attractive company pension + a guaranteed one-off pro-rata’d bonus for remaining financial year

Location: Bradford BD6 2SZ – Home working until April 2021 due to Covid-19 

**Please note this is a 12 months Fixed Term Contract**

What Will The Role Involve?

In this position as Pensions Specialist, you will effectively manage the service delivery of the pension schemes in the group, Kelda Group Pension Plan (DB) and Stakeholder + (DC).  You will work with the Pensions Manager to implement and control pensions policy to ensure compliance with legislative requirements and corporate objectives. You’ll also assist and deputise for the Pensions Manager in all other department functions and provide support to the Trustees in the tasks associated with the Secretarial function.

Once acting as our Pensions Specialist, you will manage the scheme administrators (DB) and Aegon (DC), payroll department and HR department to continuously develop processes that meet the needs of members, the company and advisors. You’ll also be the first point of contact for members/HR queries to ensure that members are provided with a good service.

Working alongside our existing Pension Specialist, you’ll be expected to support the Pensions Manager and Trustees of the KGPP with the day to day tasks associated to the role of Secretary to the Trustees. You’ll also facilitate the correct functioning of the trustee board in order to make sure the scheme is efficiently and properly run; members’ benefits are secure and support efficient and effective governance. 

What Key Skills & Experience Are We Looking For?


  • 5 Years’ experience of service delivery of a pension scheme
  • Progress towards PMI
  • Capable and confident project manager with the ability to manage multiple projects
  • Excellent communication skills, able to present themselves well both verbally and in writing
  • Proven success of developing internal and external advisors
  • Highly numerate with ability to manage a budget and monitor spending
  • Ability to learn about new legislation, guidance or investment market
  • Demonstrates an active approach and willingness to get involved
  • Expert in use of MS Office
  • Working knowledge of pension calculations and personal taxation
