The Church of England Pensions Board was established in 1926 to administer the pension scheme for the clergy. Subsequently it has been given wider powers, delivering discretionary benefits and accommodation, both for those retired from the ministry and for widow(er)s of those who have served, and administering pension schemes for lay employees of Church organisations
