GAD's 2004 survey of occupational pension schemes

GAD recently published its twelfth survey of UK occupational pension schemes, which presents results as at 2004. This article outlines the key results of the 2004 survey, such as the decrease in the number of active members, as well as other findings, such as the extent to which defined-benefit schemes have closed since the previous survey in 2000. Although the particular focus of the 2004 survey was on the benefits offered by schemes, other issues (such as contributions and changes to scheme rules) were also considered in detail. Finally, the article outlines GAD’s next survey, for which fieldwork will take place in autumn 2005.
